Weddings in the Park

The City of Plymouth Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is currently working on plans to upgrade the water fountain in Kellogg Park.  This is a DDA led project. Since we currently do not have a known construction start date or timeline, please contact our Downtown Development Authority for updates on this project.  734-455-1453.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies have become quite popular in city parks – particularly in Kellogg and Starkweather parks. These beautiful public spaces can accommodate 50-75 people for Starkweather Park and nearly 2,000 for Kellogg Park.

We have had a number of wedding ceremonies in Kellogg Park; some have been small, and others have included more than 200 guests. If you are interested in holding a ceremony in a city park, we require that you complete a Special Event Application. Please also refer to the Special Event Policy for required fees.

Park Policy
Parks do need to remain open to the public during your event; however, depending on the size of the wedding, chairs are an obvious barrier to most people.

Starkweather Park has a gazebo available for use.  In addition to the fountain in Kellogg Park, a public restroom is located just off of the green next to the Gathering Pavilion. Due to the large number of events in Kellogg Park and the downtown area, obtaining a date is very important. Please review Section 12.2(f) of our Special Events Policy regarding weddings for additional information.
